Out of the darkness, a round window glows — the curve of a helmet, or perhaps a portal. Inside: the face of a monkey, still and watchful. Ancient eyes behind future glass. The void around it hums with silence. Is it the past staring into what it will become, or the future remembering what it was? In the space between species, time folds inward.
